Attire

Dress up, have fun with it, and wear something that makes you feel cool, confident, and beautiful.Think cocktail attire, but with personal style. We’d love for the night to feel special, so please skip jeans or anything too casual. Other than that, we’re excited to see what you wear.

Other FAQs

Everything you need to know about our big day, but if you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, you can email us.
What should I expect at the reception?
There will be an open bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available. Most of the food will be Japanese-inspired and served casually, set out for guests to grab throughout the evening rather than ordered individually. The mains are meat-based and may contain gluten. Many of the sides will be gluten-free and vegetarian, and we’ll also have a gluten-free cake option. The bar, food, music, and a small dancing area will all be inside. The backyard will be available as overflow space, but smoking is not allowed there. Guests who wish to smoke will need to exit through the front and smoke on the street.
What if I have a dietary restriction?
Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies. nickandreagan.nyc@gmail.com
What happens after 9 PM?
At 9 PM, Eavesdrop will open to the public, and our hosted bar tab will end. Guests are welcome to stay at Eavesdrop, head home, or keep the night going somewhere nearby. We won’t have anything formally planned after 9 PM, so everyone can make their own plans from there.
Can I bring a plus one?
Please refer to your invitation for who is included. Due to the size of the wedding, we can only accommodate the guests listed on your invitation.
Are kids invited?
The ceremony and reception are both adults-only.
Do you have a registry?
We do not have a traditional registry. We will have a fund for anyone who would like to contribute, which may go toward a honeymoon or a future cabin upstate. That said, we know traveling to NYC for a wedding is expensive, and we truly do not expect gifts or contributions. We’re just happy to have you there.
Accessibility & Inclusivity
The park is fully accessible. Gendered public bathrooms are available at the park if needed, though we would not recommend relying on NYC Parks bathrooms unless absolutely necessary. Eavesdrop has a couple of stairs at the entrance and does not have a permanent ramp. If you may need assistance entering, please let us know in advance so we can coordinate with the venue ahead of time. Eavesdrop has multiple single-person restrooms. This is a gay wedding, and we want every guest to feel welcome, comfortable, and fully able to enjoy the night.
How do I get there?
The ceremony location is about a 10-minute walk from the Nassau Avenue G train stop, assuming the MTA is feeling ~generous~ that weekend and running the train. The B48 Bus also drops off directly in front of the park. Consult this website closer to the date if you are planning on using public transit.

Rideshare is probably the best option and may be the easiest choice, especially if you’re coming from farther away and dressed up.
Is there parking?
No. Street parking is extremely limited in this neighborhood, and we recommend transit or rideshare.
Is there a rehearsal the night before?
We will not be having a formal rehearsal dinner. Instead, we’ll have a casual, completely optional gathering the night before (October 9th) where folks can come and go as they please. This will likely be at Peeps Kitchen at Scrappleland in North Greenpoint. We will confirm closer to the date. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
What time is everything happening on the wedding day?
The wedding ceremony is at Msgr. McGolrick Park from 4-5 PM. Please plan to arrive between 3:30 and 3:45 PM.After the ceremony, we will convene at Eavesdrop at 5 PM. It is a 10-minute walk or a 5-minute drive from the park. Our wedding guests will have exclusive access to the space from 5-9 PM.
Are the ceremony and reception indoors or outdoors?
Yes, the ceremony will be outdoors. If needed, we can move under an awning, but please come prepared for light rain. The ceremony area is cement, so it should be friendly for heels and other types of shoes. The main reception area at Eavesdrop is indoors, and the extra space and seating in the backyard will be open, weather permitting.
